Igor Motsnyi is a Russian qualified IP and IT lawyer and a trademark attorney. Igor holds an LLM degree from Leiden University (the Netherlands) and completed post-graduate specialization course on Intellectual Property jointly organized by Turin University (Italy) and WIPO Academy. Prior to establishing MOTSNYI Legal Services/STANDMARK Igor Motsnyi worked as an in-house counsel in a number of Russian software companies including one of the first Internet software distributors in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe.
Igor also worked as the only IP associate in the Moscow office of White & Case LLP, a US law firm. Igor spent more than three years working as a senior/chief associate in the largest Russian full service law firm Pepeliaev, Goltsblat & partners and later in the Moscow office of English law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner as Associate Director and head of IP/IT practice.
Igor has extensive experience in a broad range of IP and IT matters including but not limited to trademarks, copyright, know-how, patents, computer software, technology licensing, IP transactions and IP due diligence, protection of personal data, use of encryption devices and Internet law.
Igor regularly assists Russian and international software companies on various transactional matters, including software licensing and technical support agreements.
Igor Motsnyi is a member of ECTA and ITechLaw Association. Igor is a regular speaker at national and international conferences on law and technology and has numerous publications on IP/IT in English, Russian and Serbian languages including publications in the Trademark World Magazine, IP Value and Computer Law Review International.
Igor lectured at the MGIMO University in Moscow and the Pericles Law School, Moscow on intellectual property.

Igor Motsnyi is a UDRP panelist at ADR.EU, a service of the Czech Arbitration Court that helps to resolve conflicts in a fast, efficient and cost-effective fashion. ADR.EU is one of the five dispute resolution service providers approved by ICANN. Currently Igor Motsnyi is the only UDRP panelist from Russia and Serbia at ADR.EU.
Igor is also an examiner at MFSD, Milan – a Uniform Rapid Suspension system (URS) dispute resolution provider approved by ICANN and the only URS provider located in Europe.
Igor is a native Russian speaker and is fluent in English, Serbian and Croatian languages and has a working knowledge of Ukrainian language.
